Washu Wig

Washu Wig from Tenchi Muyo

The Wig:
Originally 2 long length wigs and x4 Extensions in Raspberry from Arda.
The base wig (Luthien) was straightened with the front bangs pulled back. I cut out the back of the base wefts of the wig and created a base to glue a foam core. I then layered the foam base and curved it to shape, then glued it on to the base wig. The second wig (Vegas) was then stitched and glued abound the foam core The top portion of the wig was then pulled back to the foam core and glued into position for the pulled back look.

For the spikes I twisted wire to have a loop design, clear taped around it and glued wig fibers to it. After all 8 spikes were made I brushed the spikes with caulk and left to dry overnight. For the hair line I added a piece of fabric as the base to bring the wig forward then I glued wig fibers in place to have the natural spiked hairline. Wests were added into the pulled back portion of the wig to correct any base skeleton that was seen.

After the base was fully assembled I then spiked the back portion of the wig and cut it to style. I glued on the spikes to the front of the wig and sprayed everything in place.

I created the twisted headband by stitching thick felt into the purple strips and twisting and stitching it in place at the top portion. The band was then looped around the head and tied in place underneath.
